napoleon bonaparte 2002 downloads: 2 film:2 When Napoleon Bonaparte was exiled to Elba in 1814, not everyone was happy. Sir Robert Walpole, the British prime minister and leader of the Whig Party stopped paying his troops. This caused nationwide riots and the threat of a full-scale war between England and France. Sir Robert's death returned order to Britain but after witnessing these events, Napoleon would later say that "England has lost her best statesman". This statement is one of many that led Napoleon to believe he was destined for greatness and inspired his thirst for power and return to France in 1815 where he would defeat all opponents with astonishing speed. The film begins with Sir Robert Walpole, the British prime minister, paying his troops. This causes riots throughout England. One of these rioters is Sir Edward Fitzjames, who is disguised as a woman - there are two women in the crowd. Sir Edward brutally batters one of the women and leaves her crying on the ground. This scene foreshadows Sir Edward's sadistic nature which will be revealed later on in the film. The Royal Navy sends its ships to blockade France's major ports to prevent supplies from reaching Napoleon. Napoleon escapes from Elba on March 7, 1815. Napoleon is naturally opposed to Britain since they are the ones that helped overthrow him in the past. He thinks that they are his enemies. Napoleon's return to France does not last long - he declares himself emperor and plans to rule France again which angers Britain and forces them to send an army of 23,000 men to defeat Napoleon's army of about 100,000 men. The first battle of the campaign occurs at Quatre Bras (June 16) and its outcome is a defeat for the French as only part of the British force was engaged; this leaves Brussels open for occupation by General Picton and his British troops. Napoleon's first attempt to attack London ends with him being captured at Bere Island on August 16, 1815. He is sent to the United States for exile on the island of Saint Helena in the South Atlantic. He is later transferred to France where he is tried, found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment. CARTEL - The Battle of Waterloo (Napoleonic Simulation)Playstation®2 Napoleon II was released in 2002 and is a simulation game that requires the PlayStation®2 game console. This game simulates Napoleon's escape from Elba (1814) and his return to Paris (1815). It bears resemblance to another game released in 2001, "". The game is played in real-time but the player's troops are pre-ordered at the beginning of each mission so, unlike other real-time games, time cannot be wasted trying to organise troops during battle. The game features three different views: "Combat view", "Sketch Book" and "Headquarters". The combat view displays the game's battlefield and allows players to see where their troops are positioned at all times. Players can also give orders to certain groups of troops one time through this function. The Sketchbook allows players to draw out the battlefield much like a commander would on paper before sending his troops into battle. As well as drawing, many other functions are available such as communication or leadership checks. cfa1e77820
